The Daily Record reports that West Ham, under manager Slaven Bilic, have made a large bid of around £20million for 19 year old striker Moussa Dembele of Celtic. Dembele, not that one, moved for Fulham to Celtic in order to play under manager Brendan Rodgers this past summer, and he’s hit the ground running.
His power, pace, and finishing abilities have helped Celtic to an undefeated record so far this season in the Scottish Premier League, and he’s caught the eyes of many clubs in the process.
Apparently, West Ham are one of them. Although, it is rather curious that they are only just now interested. You’d think with Fulham being close by that they’d have been aware before.
With West Ham desperate for some sort of a spark to get their season going, they are apparently turning their sights toward the young French international to help make sure they don’t fall into any unexpected relegation battles.
West Ham are probably keen to combine him with Andy Carroll in a classic little-big partnership, but don’t expect Dembele to move in January. Celtic have done a good job developing him, and they will likely hold out until the summer for more money.
