Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion are set to go head-to-head in pursuit of Brentford midfielder Alan Judge. Sky Sports claim that the current top two sides in Championship are vying for the services of the 28-year-old, who only has six months left on his contract.
The Bees are reportedly interested in selling the player in January as they don’t want to risk losing him for free in the summer.
Judge is currently recovering from a broken leg he suffered in the game against Ipswich Town in April. However, Bees manager Dean Smith recently confirmed that the player could be back on the pitch by the end of January.
The midfielder scored 14 league goals from midfield last season and was voted into the PFA Championship team of the season.
He was a target for the Magpies during summer, but a move failed to materialize after it was revealed that he wouldn’t return to playing football for the rest of the year.
