Aston Villa to reportedly bid £3m for former Arsenal prodigy

Aston Villa are the latest club to have been linked (Sky Sports) with an interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury.

Sky Sports claim that Villa are currently preparing a £3m bid for the 26-year-old, who is in the last year of his contract with the Forest.

The former Arsenal youth star is allowed to talk to other clubs and sign a pre-agreement as he is in the final six months of his contract.

The Forest have reportedly already turned down a £2.5m offer from Championship rivals Derby County for their star player.

A couple of days ago, Sky Sports also claimed that Premier League side Watford are also keeping tabs on the former England U21 international, and the player might prefer an opportunity to play in the top tier of English football.

Lansbury, who joined the Forest from Arsenal for £1m in 2012, has scored 33 goals in 150 appearances for his current side.
