Manchester United are interested in signing Corinthians defender Guilherme Arana, according to Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb.
The report claims Arana’s agent is currently in Manchester in a bid to secure his client a move to Old Trafford.
However, the website goes on to suggest the player’s representative is also negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old left-back, whose contract with the Brazilian giants is due to expire in December 2019, has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Coringãothis season, scoring one goal in the Copa Libertadores.
Manchester United are thought to be in the middle of revamping their whole scouting network and are constantly being linked with a wide variety of potential signings.
The Red Devils have a severe injury crisis in defense right now, but even if they sign Arana in January, the Brazilian is unlikely to feature for Mourinho’s first team this season.
The talented teenager would need time to get used to the specifics of the English game and would have to spend some time with the club’s reserves during his adaptation period.
