Manchester United are leading the race to sign West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford, according to the Daily Mail.
The report suggests Oxford is yet to sign a contract extension with his club and could leave the Hammers at the end of the season.
United are believed to be in pole position to secure his signature, though Arsenal and Manchester City are also chasing the teenager.
The 20-time English champions have been linked with a move for Oxford since the start of last summer and it seems like they won’t rest until they sign the versatile defender.
Even though Oxford is yet to play for West Ham in the Premier League this season, he’s widely regarded as one of England’s best talents right now and has even been likened to Rio Ferdinand, who also started his career at Upton Park.
If the 17-year-old fails to reach an agreement with West Ham before the end of the year, the capital side could even choose to sell him in January and if they do, it appears as though Manchester United would be ready to pounce.
