Manchester United have rejected Crystal Palace’s offer to take Ashley Young on loan for the season as the Red Devils prefer to offload him permanently, according to the Guardian.

The report suggests Crystal Palace are looking to sign a replacement for Yannick Bolasie, who completed his move to Everton today, and have identified Ashley Young as a target.

However, United have reportedly rejected Alan Pardew’s loan offer for Young, so the Crystal Palace boss might have to look elsewhere.

The 31-year-old former Aston Villa player is currently well down the pecking order at United and didn’t even find a place on the bench for his team’s first two games of the season.

Young is unlikely to get much time on the pitch for United this season, so it’d be better for him to leave in search for regular first-team football.

The winger signed a new contract with United until 2018 with an option to extend for a further year last summer.

However, Young failed to impress last season, only scoring 1 goal in 26 appearances for United in all competitions.

He’s always been a useful squad member, but with Depay and Martial already ahead of him in the pecking order on the left wing, it’d be better for his career to move on.
