Manchester United reportedly interested in €20million-rated Turkish star

Manchester United are interested in signing Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, but face competition from Arsenal and Valencia, according to Spanish news outlet Deporte Valenciano.

The report suggests Valencia are keen to sign Ozyakup as a replacement for Andre Gomes, but are likely to be outbid by the two English clubs.

Turkish champions Besiktas are believed to be open to selling the 23-year-old if they receive an offer of at least €20m and it seems like Jose Mourinho’s team is one of the candidates for Ozyakup’s signature this summer.

Ozyakup played in all 3 games for Turkey during the European Championship group stage earlier this summer, but couldn’t help his country advance to the knockout stages.

He scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for Besiktas last season.

Ozyakup was linked with a move to United earlier in the summer and it seems like the rumours have resurfaced.

United obviously need to strengthen their midfield options this summer, but given their reported pursuit of Paul Pogba, moving for Ozyakup seems highly unlikely.

Even though Ozyakup is a talented player, United need to sign a world-class midfielder if they want to stand a chance of challenging for honours next season.
