Leon needed a win against Atlas in order to climb up the standings and get closer to a Copa Libertadores spot. Well, they thoroughly outplayed Atlas and got a deserved 3-1 victory. Leon now has 33 points and is temporarily situated in the #1 spot of the standings. For Leon to not make it into the Copa Libertadores, Xolos must win, Toluca must win, and America must win by 5 goal difference. With this 3-1 victory over Atlas, Leon has virtually guaranteed a spot in the Copa Libertadores.
