Report: Jose Mourinho wants to sell 4 first-team players

Schweinsteiger

Jose Mourinho wants to offload Daley Blind, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marcos Rojo and Juan Mata this summer, according to the Daily Record.

The report suggests Mourinho wants to revamp his squad this summer and has transfer listed the aforementioned players.

26-year-old versatile defender Rojo, who joined United 2 years ago, has failed to impress at Old Trafford and is believed to be available for €12m.

Daley Blind was one of the key players in Louis Van Gaal’s starting eleven during the past two seasons.

However, it appears as though Mourinho doesn’t think Blind possesses the necessary attributes to play as a centre-back in his system, so the Dutchman looks likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

31-year-old Schweinsteiger, who left Bayern Munich for Manchester United last summer, failed to fulfil the expectations at Old Trafford and missed the final two months of United’s 2015/16 campaign through injury.

Mata scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists in 54 appearances for United last season, but he’s also believed to be set for an exit this summer.

Mourinho was reportedly not impressed with Mata’s work-rate at Chelsea and it seems like the Portuguese’s opinion hasn’t changed.

The newly appointed United manager has already signed three players this summer and is unlikely to stop there, so it’s perfectly natural to expect some players to leave as well.
