Daily Mail reports that Chelsea is not holding back even after splashing £33 million on Michy Batshuayi and they are going after Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata to bolster their attack. The Spanish international had a two-year stint at Juventus, where he captured all the eyes in the transfer market. Real Madrid has exercised their £23 million buy-back clause and are interested in offloading the striker in order to make a profit off of him.
The 23-year-old Morata has 50 goals in 154 appearances for both Real Madrid and Juventus. Also, the striker has 6 goals in 13 appearances for Spain. Alvaro Morata has made the most of his time in Italy and risen to instant glory. His consistency has been amazing up-front. Conte prefers to play with 2 strikers and Chelsea management realizes the need for a world-class striker.
Nonetheless, things are a little bit unclear whether it will be a permanent deal or a loan-deal. Talking about the transfer from Real Madrid’s point of view, this is the last transfer window before they face the ban, so they will need a world class striker as well alongside Karim Benzema.
From Morata’s point of view, his playing time might be affected by Diego Costa, who has planned to stay at Stamford Bridge, and Michy Batshuayi. The transfer is likely to happen only if Chelsea agree to pay a hefty amount and Conte is able to assure Morata of enough playing time.
