As Liverpool Echo reports (via Portuguese a Bola), Liverpool is interested in signing Borussia Dortmund’s midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The twenty-seven-year-old Armenian is one of the Borussia Dortmund’s most important players, and he proved that last season when he managed to score a total of 23 goals in 51 appearances.
Liverpool’s boss, Jurgen Klopp, is already familiar with the abilities of Mkhitaryan, because he was in charge when Mkhitaryan has joined the German club. However, it seems like now Klopp wants to lure the midfielder away from Westfalenstadion.
The fact is that, despite Liverpool being linked with numerous players, most of them are young and they would need to prove their quality. On the other hand, Mkhitaryan is already well-experienced, and considering the Coutinho departure rumours are getting stronger every day, maybe Mkhitaryan is exactly what the Anfield club needs.
His experience and skills, together with a few young players, could make Liverpool’s midfield much more competitive next season, so Mkhitaryan could definitely be a very good acquisition.
