Arsenal are considering to offer £15m for Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj, according to the Daily Star.

The report suggests Arsene Wenger wants to strengthen his options at full-back and has identified the 22-year old Albanian international as a key transfer target.

However, Arsenal are likely to face competition for Hysaj’s signature as Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United are also believed to be interested, though the paper speculates that the lack of Champions League football could diminish the latter two’s chances.

Hysaj, who’s currently representing Albania at Euro 2016, enjoyed a very good season at Napoli and helped his team to a second-place finish in Serie A.

Hysaj’s main position is at right-back, but he can also play on the left.

Arsenal’s first-choice right-back Bellerin has been linked with a potential return to his home club Barcelona this summer as the Spanish champions are looking for a replacement for the departing Daniel Alves.

Wenger needs to sign a new full-back this summer regardless of what happens with Bellerin, as Calum Chambers and Kieran Gibbs have also been linked with moves away from the club.

Hysaj could prove to be a perfect solution for Arsenal as he’s at the right age and his versatility would be invaluable.

Hysaj is a key player in Maurizio Sarri’s team, so Arsenal would find it difficult to convince Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to sell the former Empoli defender.
