French champions Paris Saint-Germain could be interested in signing Liverpool’s creative force, Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool Echo reports.
No official approach has been made yet, but according to Liverpool Echo, people from PSG have already been talking to the player’s representatives.
The twenty-two-year-old Brazilian is one of the key players for the Reds, and without him, it’s unsure how their team would look like. Because of this, Liverpool is expected to fight until their last breath to keep Coutinho.
Despite PSG being able to offer him much more money than Liverpool, this may not be crucial in the negotiations. However, PSG is playing in the Champions League next season, while Liverpool does not participate in any European competition in the 2016/17 season.
Maybe Coutinho is going to decide that he wants to play some European football, and that could be a deciding factor, should he decide to join PSG.
Klopp is going to do his best to keep the player at Anfield, but it is yet to be seen if he is going to be successful. Nonetheless, given that Coutinho is still early on in a long-term contract with Liverpool, it would take a massive bid from PSG to force Liverpool to sell the player.
Given the importance of the player to Liverpool, I see this transfer story, as it currently stands, with little chance of happening.
