Preparations for the upcoming Copa America Centenario begin for the United States Men’s National Team when they visit Puerto Rico for a friendly match this Sunday, May 22, 2016 (9:00 AM Pacific) at the Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel. This game will be played by a USMNT alternate squad filled with many faces new to the first team.

The USA travels to Puerto Rico with the knowledge that they face a weak team who on paper is a huge underdog. Considering this, the result to the match will be the least important factor as coach Jurgen Klinsmann will use this friendly to adapt new faces into future call-ups.

There are five players who attended the USMNT camp this week, which include two from the Liga MX (Paul Arriola and Amando Moreno), and three from the German Busdeliga system (Fabrice Picault, Zach Steffen, and Caleb Stanko). From this group, two Arriola and Picault will be the most interesting to watch on Sunday due to their great speed and greater professional experience.

While many new faces will most likely participate in this match, other veteran players also form part of this USMNT roster. The most noteworthy names are Brad Guzan, Tim Howard, Geoff Cameron, DeAndre Yedlin, Alejandro Bedoya, and Fabian Johnson.
