The 23-year-old Spanish defender spoke to the media ahead of the Europa League clash against the Yellow Submarine, Villarreal. He insisted his focus is on Liverpool at the moment and he is looking forward to winning the Europa League rather summer’s European Championship.
“I’d rather focus on Liverpool; to try and win the Europa League with Liverpool and try to finish in a good position in the Premier League,” admitted Moreno, who is not so much concerned about EURO2016 before the season ends.
He adds that his selection in the Spanish squad depends on Vicente Del Bosque and he will give his 100% to impress Spain’s national team boss. “The rest is up to [Vicente]Del Bosque to decide and I’ll just do my best for Liverpool and think of the games in hand,” said Moreno.
It is important for every Liverpool player to concentrate on what they have now, Europa League, which might be their ticket to Champions League next season. Like Moreno said, they need to think about the games in hand and finishing Premier League in a firm position. They still have one silverware to fight for, which the whole Liverpool squad needs to remain focused on.
