Manchester United star set to delay signing new deal with Red Devils

Old Trafford

According to a recent report from British news source the Daily Mail, Manchester United’s up-and-coming star forward Marcus Rashford will likely stall any new attempt to keep him at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future. The 18 year-old Rashford is having his breakout season, having scored 7 goals in just 13 appearances, and it’s widely believed that United want him to sign a long-term contract.

The young star’s current contract with United that sees him earn £1,500-a-week, will expire in 2017 and if he continues to find the back of the net with the consistency he has shown thus far, a very lucrative deal should be coming his way. While Rashford is currently represented by family members, it’s being suggested that he’s looking for a top agency to handle any future negotiations.

United manager Louis Van Gaal spoke to the media on Thursday, saying that despite the forward’s recent form he still has a lot to learn. According to the Daily Mail, Rashford “is expected to lead United’s attack in Saturday’s semi-final against Everton at Wembley, and has also been mentioned as a possible contender for England’s Euro 2016 squad.”
