Manchester United Injury Update- 1 Player Returns, 3 Still Out

Ander Herrera has been given the green light by Louis Van Gaal for the match against Crystal Palace, and is set to return. Van Gaal stated that Schweinsteiger, Adnan Januzaj and Luke Shaw will remain sidelined as they are suffering from long term injuries. Though, Luke Shaw has shown positive signs of recovery from his double leg break against PSV Eindhoven in September.

Van Gaal confirmed to MUTV:

“[We have] no injury problems, only the players who are injured already for a long time- Schweinsteiger, Shaw and Januzaj. I think Herrera shall come back.”

The return of Herrera is a huge boost for Manchester United, as they desperately need experienced legs on the pitch with only a few games left. United have a great opportunity to close the gap on city rivals Manchester City, which drew against Newcastle United on Tuesday and 4th placed Arsenal to play on Thursday. The absence of Schweinsteiger has been felt in the squad, but the German is still recovering from his injury.

Ander Herrera, as he gets the nod for the clash against Crystal Palace, provides Louis Van Gaal some comfort in his selections, though the manager hasn’t said clearly how many minutes Herrera can get or if he is going to start the match.
