Real Madrid ready to swoop for £79million star from Chelsea

Thibault Courtois

Interest from Real Madrid could see Thibaut Courtois’ departure from the Stamford Bridge, according to reports from ESPN FC. The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper would cost £79million to Los Blancos, The Sun cites in an AS report. His contract extends to 2019 with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Courtois has been the guardian of Chelsea’s goal since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2014. He was impressive in the Title-Winning side of Atletico Madrid, the side which almost cost Real Madrid their La Decima.

Courtois has been consistent with the gloves. His consistency makes him one of the best GKs in modern day football. Standing tall on the Goal-line with instant shot-stopping reflexes and a high degree of concentration, the Belgian will be a perfect fit to Zinedine Zidane’s side next season.

The things are pretty much clear as the player himself wants a move way from Stamford Bridge and has been uncertain regarding his commitments for Chelsea in future. According to several reports Real Madrid are no more interested in David De Gea and would like to buy a goalkeeper before transfer ban, which make things clear, Madrid is pursuing Courtois. Chelsea would let him go if a big money transfer is to happen.
