Chelsea will be planning to make a whopping £60million move for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez during the January transfer window, according to reports from the Metro
Following his exploits for the Colombian national team in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, James Rodriguez had emerged as one of the finest players in the world and unsurprisingly, Spanish giants Real Madrid went on to make a swoop for the playmaker in the summer of 2014 for a whopping fee of around €80million.
Rodriguez did enjoy a fine start to life in Madrid and finished the campaign with impressive statistics of 17 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions.
It was expected that Rodriguez would go on to enjoy an even better season this term but unfortunately, that has not proven to be the case so far.
While injuries have not helped matters, Rodriguez has endured a difficult time on the pitch whenever he has featured and it is believed that the Colombian international is not happy at how he is being used by manager Rafael Benitez.

In addition, it has even been claimed that Benitez will be looking to make a move for Arsenal star Mesut Ozil during the January transfer window which is set to pave the way for a potential exit for Rodriguez from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Now according to reports from the Metro, Chelsea are considering making a move for Rodriguez in January. It is clear to see that Chelsea need a spark to turn their season around and the Metro claims that the Blues are ready to splash as much as £60million to attract Rodriguez to Stamford Bridge.
