Strongest Possible Chelsea Lineup vs Maccabi Tel Aviv: 4-2-3-1 with Kenedy to drop out

Costa

Having ended their terrible run of form with a 1-0 victory over Norwich City during the weekend, Chelsea now shift their attention to the Champions League as they now prepare to square off against Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Sammy Ofer Stadium on Tuesday night.

Chelsea have not yet sealed their qualification into the knockout rounds of the Champions League as of yet and although one should expect the Blues to claim the three points against the pointless Maccabi side, the trip to Israel will be a tricky one.

Here is a strongest possible lineup for Chelsea on the night –

Goalkeeper

Asmir Begovic finally managed a clean sheet in the victory over Norwich City and the Bosnian international will now be hopeful of consolidating on the performance.

Maccabi have not shown too much potency in attack so far in the Champions League but that said, Begovic will have to maintain full concentration in order to claim another clean sheet.

Defence

Kenedy was handed a start in the left back position against Norwich and while the Brazilian did put up a wonderful performance, it looks likely that Cesar Azpilicueta will be making a return to the starting lineup on Tuesday night.

Along with Azpilicueta, the likes of Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry and Kurt Zouma are expected to complete the defensive lineup while Gary Cahill will be pushing for a start as well.

Midfield

Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas put in a solid midfield performance against Norwich and the duo will be retaining their place in the starting lineup while the attacking midfield position is likely to be occupied by Willian. Ramires and Oscar also provide the options for Jose Mourinho to choose from.

In the wide areas, Pedro and Eden Hazard will in all likelihood start. Hazard in particular, has been showing glimpses of returning back to his best and the Belgian will be the key man for Chelsea once again.

Attack

Diego Costa managed to end his goal drought with a well taken strike against Norwich City and the Spaniard will now be hopeful of opening the floodgates in front of goal in the coming weeks.

Radamel Falcao has not travelled with the Chelsea squad for the clash but Loic Remy provides a solid option for Mourinho to choose from on the night.
