Agreement Reached: Manchester United finally strike a deal for striker

Manchester United have entered an agreemeent over the sale of Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports from the Kicker

Manchester United may well be short on strikers at the moment but Javier Hernandez has consistently been linked with a move away from the club.

Hernandez has found himself surplus to requirements at United over the last few years and while it looked like the striker would get a chance at Old Trafford this season following the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao, the Mexican international has largely played second fiddle to Wayne Rooney despite the Englishman’s poor run of form.

As a result, speculation linking Hernandez away from United has refused to die down and the likes of West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur were consistently linked with a move for the 27-year old during the past few weeks.

Hernandez to leave United

Recently though, it had emerged that Bayer Leverkusen were also in the race to sign Hernandez and now according to reports from the Kicker, United have agreed a deal with the German side over the sale of the striker.

The reports have claimed that United have agreed on a fee of around £12million with Leverkusen and the transfer is now expected to be completed imminently.

Selling Hernandez might not seem sensible for United due to their shortage of front men but the transfer will be beneficial for the Mexican international as the striker is at the age where he needs regular first team football.
