Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Sergio Ramos – according to reports from the Metro
Sergio Ramos is currently said to be unsettled at Madrid due to the fact that he has not been offered improved terms on his contract by the Spanish giants.
As a result, reports linking Ramos away from the Santiago Bernabeu has been gathering pace in recent times and the defender has been touted to make a switch to the Premier League.
The likes of Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in signing Ramos but now according to reports from the Metro, Manchester United have stolen a march on their rivals in the race to sign the 29-year old.
Ramos could be set for Manchester United move
The reports also go on to claim that Ramos has been offered a £165,000-per week contract by the Red Devils and the deal could well take place soon.
United are yet to agree on a fee with Madrid over Ramos but it has been suggested that the Red Devils will look to facilitate a straight swap with goalkeeper David De Gea – who is being courted by the Spanish giants.
The signing of Sergio Ramos would certainly be a big boost for United and although the fans would not like to see De Gea leave, the arrival of the defender could go a long way in softening the blow.
