Manchester United have set a British record fee for the Argentine starlet, Ángel Di María.

After rumors spun around about Angel Di Maria leaving Real Madrid this summer, it has finally come to a conclusion. Despite being an interest to other clubs like, Paris Saint-Germain, he stated that “Manchester United would be the only team I would leave Real Madrid for.” Upon passing the medical, Di Maria will be ready to join the Red Devils on Thursday for training and is set to make his debut on Saturday against Burnley FC.

Making his professional debut in 2007 with Benfica, Angel Di Maria was sure to be the player to watch. His natural talents showed on the field and quickly went from being the underdog to the superstar that turned heads and became a fan favorite. He went on to score his first hat trick with Benfica and was known as “Magic Tri Maria” all throughout Portugal.

In June of 2010, Real Madrid set their eye on Di Maria and reached a deal with Benfica for the Argentine star. Throughout his career with Real Madrid, Di Maria led the Merengues to the Champions League final, two European cups, one Liga cup, and the Spanish Super Cup. As a left-winger and attacking mid fielder, Di Maria was the play maker and shined in every game. Scoring 11 goals and assisting 24 last season, Angel Di Maria will be the difference in any team he plays for and against.

When Real Madrid signed James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos, Di Maria knew his playing time could be in jeopardy and there was no use for him, with both players in the same position as him, Di Maria decided to leave. Rumors stirred that Angel Di Maria was being targeted by Manchester United, and it was not long until they agreed on personal terms and signed a contract Tuesday afternoon. Angel Di Maria looks more than eager to start working with Louis van Gaal and the rest of the team. Along with Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, and Ander Herrera, as the other players Louis van Gaal was able to reel in.

Being a box to box midfielder and tireless player, Di Maria will create more opportunity for goals and assists. He can constantly keep the momentum up in the mid-field with his quickness. With his immense left-footer, he can be dangerous inside by cutting or outside by taking long distance shots, along with his solid passing and dribbling. The arrival of Angel Di Maria to Old Trafford could dig Manchester United out of the hole they are in and put them back on the top of the Premier League.
