Much to the relief of Manchester United supporters, the Red Devils have finally completed the signing of a new player in the form of Argentine international Marcos Rojo from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
Rojo joins United for a fee believed to be in the region of around £16million and has signed a 5-year deal with the Red Devils, while Nani has gone the other way on a season long loan as part of the transfer package.
While the arrival of Rojo is certainly a huge boost for the weak looking United defence, it is clear that the Premier League giants will have to make further signings in order to stand a chance of breaking into the top four this season.

Now, much to the delight of the United fans, it has been revealed that promising young player Sead Kolašinac could be the next one on his way to Old Trafford.
Kolašinac may not be a name that will immediately excite United fans, but the defender is considered one of the most talented young players currently plying their trade in Europe, following his wonderful campaign with German Bundesliga side Schalke last season.
As a result, the 21-year old had been attracting the interest from a host of top clubs, among whom Manchester United are said to be leading the pack in the race to secure the services of the talented defender.
United have monitered Kolasinac all summer
Now, to further fuel speculation about his potential transfer to United, Kolašinac has himself revealed that he has been subject to a bid from the Red Devils and seemed to issue a ‘come-and-get-me’ plea in an attempt to earn a move to Old Trafford.
Speaking to a Bosnian daily publication Dnevni Avaz, Kolašinac claimed that United have been scouting him all summer long and went on to add that he could still join the Premier League giants before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.
Kolašinac said, “More than two months ago Schalke received an official offer from very successful English club Manchester United for me. This option is still open.
“United scouts were at a recent friendly match between Tottenham and Schalke in London. Believe me, I only heard about it after the completion of a match.
Kolasinac expresses his desire to join United
“Club (United) is one of the world’s top. Of course… it would be great to play at Old Trafford. In football you never know nothing. Anything is possible.
“There’s still time until the end of the transfer period and we’ll see. I’m not here to play for a lifetime at Schalke. People go where it is better and where they can thrive.”
Although far from a finished article, there is no doubting that Kolašinac is an extremely talented young defender and could well flourish into a top class player under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal, if indeed the transfer does go through.
