This week we will only have the pleasure of watching two Copa MX matches, instead of the 14 matches a week we had been accustomed to. Tuesday’s games will finish up the last two matches of Week 3 of the Copa MX. Week 4 Copa MX matches will be played next week.
Celaya is forced to at least get a tie against Tijuana, as a loss would basically result in their elimination from the Copa MX. A Xolos win would really put the pressure on Del Olmos’ Pumas, who would be forced to win next week’s match against Merida if it wants to maintain parity with Xolos.
A loss against Correcaminos would not only be an embarrassment to Club America, but it could seriously jeopardize their chances of progressing to the next round. However, Herrera has stated that he will continue using his younger players; we’ll have to wait and see what the result is.
