FutnSoccer Contributor Legacy
For many years, FutnSoccer was more than a soccer news website. It was also a place where aspiring writers could get their first real experience covering the sport.
Beginning in the site’s early years, FutnSoccer opened its doors to students, young writers, and soccer fans who wanted to learn how to report, write, edit, and publish for a live sports audience.
Over the years, dozens of interns and contributors wrote for FutnSoccer. Many arrived with little or no professional publishing experience. They learned how to work on deadline, cover breaking news, write match previews and analysis, research stories, respond to editorial feedback, and publish for an audience that at times reached more than one million pageviews per month.
For some, FutnSoccer was a first step into a career in journalism, sports media, communications, or other sports-related fields.
Learning by Publishing
The philosophy was simple: the best way to learn sports journalism was to actually do it.
Contributors were given real assignments, real deadlines, editing, and the opportunity to see their work published alongside coverage read by soccer fans around the world.
FutnSoccer’s editorial team worked directly with contributors on writing, sourcing, headlines, story selection, and the day-to-day realities of running a digital sports publication.
The program was demanding, but it gave young writers something difficult to reproduce in a classroom: experience working inside a functioning publication.
Where They Went Next
We are proud that a number of former FutnSoccer contributors went on to careers in journalism, sports media, communications, and related fields.
Their success remains one of the parts of FutnSoccer’s history we value most.
A Different FutnSoccer Today
FutnSoccer relaunched in 2026 with a different operating model and a renewed focus on Liga MX, the Mexico national team, CONCACAF, South American soccer, Mexican players competing abroad, and soccer across the Americas.
We are not currently operating the large-scale internship and contributor program that existed during the site’s earlier years.
This page remains online as a record of that program and of the many writers who helped build FutnSoccer over the years.
