According to The Daily Express, Manchester United are monitoring Marco Reus’ situation. Reus currently plays at Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
According to the newspaper, Reus has been offered a contract extension at Dortmund amongst all the speculation. Reus apparently has a 28 million pound buyout clause and United may try to strike a deal for the German international.
Reus has yet to confirm he has received a contract extension, although says he is happy at the Bundesliga club. Reus seems determined to wait until the season’s end before taking action one way or another.
This rumor is coming from The Daily Express so it is somewhat reliable, and thus gets a 7 out of a 10 as far as strength.
If Manchester United were able to sign Marco Reus, it would be a huge signing. Reus can and would help improve United in the final third, both in scoring goals and assisting.
Manchester United are probably going to sell a lot of players this summer, which means they are going to need to bring in some depth and quality. Reus can play out wide on either flank and provide width as well as cutting inside, or he can play behind the striker in a number 10 role.
Reus brings versatility in the attack and is the sort of player that United desperately need to acquire in my opinion. If he was convinced to come to Old Trafford, I would give it a 10 out of 10 as far as improving the squad.
Reus seems happy at Dortmund but has yet to sign a contract extension, which leaves his future in doubt. I can see Reus leaving Dortmund this summer, just as Lewandowski will as well. The odds would be better if Jurgen Klopp was taking over at manager but it seems that Van Gaal is going to get that job.
As of right now, I would say this potential transfer is at about a 50 percent chance of occurring. United would be smart to do anything in their power to try and sign Reus, even if it means paying the 28 million pound buyout clause for him.
