Arsenal vs Hull City: The beginning of the end

Things are really heating up in the Premier League right now, as we get towards the end of the season. For Arsenal, things are starting to look on the up and up again. After getting the “Old Yeller” treatment by Everton (for those who never saw that movie it means getting dragged out back and put to eternal rest) I figured our season was over. No champions league for the first time ever under Wenger, which even by his sometimes dismal standards is a huge failure. Since then Everton has dropped points to lowly Crystal Palace and has put us back into fourth place.

Crystal Palace gifted us a road to next years champions league. With Hull City, Newcastle, West Bromwich, and Norwich remaining, even the pessimist would say we have a great chance to win out the rest of our games. If we do so, we are guaranteed 4th place which is enough for us to attract top talent in the off season…something we desperately need. But I digress.

This game also has another fun sub plot to it. In just under a month we will be playing Hull City again at Wembly Stadium fighting for our first trophy in 9 years. This game gives us the opportunity to flex our muscle and beat them mentally before that game even comes around. If Snoop Dog aka Snoop Lion were writing this article, he would probably say that its time for Arsenal to “Flex Nuts.” I apologize to my editor on this one but hey, everyone loves snoop dog.

Arsenal have also been given a big boost by the recent return of Aaron Ramsey who I’m sure will play a big part in this game. This would be a great opportunity to get back on the score sheet. There are also reports that we will finally see Mezut Ozil return to the field. All of us who celebrated after he was signed for 42.5 million pounds have been not so patiently awaiting his return to action. Im not sure if he will get the start but I think he will play some part in this game. I’m not so worried about tactics for this game because the truth is we should win this game…and we need to. My prediction: 3-0 to the Arsenal and a very happy me who will have a beer early on Easter Morning to celebrate a fine victory.
