After the predictably toothless display against their superior rivals, United will be pleased to be playing a side in the lower half of the table this weekend, as their success rate against anyone above 10th is beyond embarrassing.
Moyes made some very odd selections for the derby, and it got the result it so clearly deserved. In the game against Villa, we can expect Vidic to return as well as Januzaj. Kagawa will play behind Rooney up front while Ashley Young will also return against his former side.
It seems relatively certain that United will finish seventh this year, a year ago that would have been unthinkable, but it would come as no surprise to see Moyes save some of his best resources for the game against Bayern. A two legged affair which United are very far away of being capable of winning right now, but if Moyes finally picks a side worthy of opposing top opposition, you never know. One thing is for sure, 4th place has definitely gone.
United tend to enjoy playing against Aston Villa and if Mata, Kagawa and Young can combine with Rooney in a way similar to the West Ham, they should stroll it.
