Possible Chelsea Lineup vs Aston Villa – Change In The Striker Position

Chelsea travel to Villa Park to play against Aston Villa on March 15th in the Premier League.  Paul Lambert’s side will look to scrape away from this game with any points. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho will look to grab three points from this fixture.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

This is the formation Chelsea will be using for the remaining of the season, at least.  The formation facilitates the positions perfect for the Chelsea squad.  With a surplus of attacking midfielders, this is the ideal formation to get the most out of the squad.

Goalkeeper: Petr Čech

The Czech keeper will surely start this game.  He has started every Premier League game and will look to keep up that record.  Čech’s goal has had only 22 goals go past him this season, the lowest in the league.

Right Back: Branislav Ivanovic

The Serbian star has proven himself as a very reliable defender.  His age has slightly hindered his explosiveness, but he still has the ability to move forward and track back.

Center Backs: John Terry and Gary Cahill

Mourinho would certainly be looking to rest his veteran star Terry for the Champions League clash against Galatasaray, but David Luiz is out with injury.  Although he will be putting out his best center backs, he would have hoped to save them.

Left Back: Cesar Azpilicueta

Once again, Mourinho would have liked to start Ashley Cole to give the Spaniard a rest, but Cole is also out with injury. Azpilicueta is by far the most influential Chelsea player this season, so Mourinho will not be disappointed to put him in the squad.

Center Defensive Midfield: Ramires and Nemanja Matic

This combination has the best of the both worlds.  The speedy Brazilian Ramires is known for his bursts up the field in quick attacks while Matic is a rock in the front of the defense.

Left Wing: Eden Hazard

The Belgian finally got another goal back from the spot against Tottenham.  He will be looking to put out another world class performance.

Center Attacking Midfield: Willian

Fellow Brazilian Oscar has had a very slow second half to the season.  He has been unable to convert many goals or spectacular plays like he did at the beginning of the season.  Willian, who hasn’t shown amazing skill, has at least shown consistency.

Right Wing: Andre Schürrle

His past two games have been noteworthy and surely deserves another spot in the starting eleven. The German likes to switch on the wings with Hazard and can prove to be a deadly threat.

Striker: Demba Ba

Ba had disappeared from the Chelsea squad.  After coming on as a sub against Tottenham with only a few minutes remaining he was able to put away two goals. Scoring two goals in a couple minutes is one of the best ways to get your boss’ attention.
