With Bayern Munich coming up on Wednesday, Wenger will rest a few key players for the visit of Liverpool in the FA Cup this weekend, however, he will also be very keen to avoid anything vaguely similar to the 5-1 drubbing they were handed last weekend, when the same opponents schooled them at Anfield.
Wenger will be pleased to welcome Flamini back into the fold after suspension. It is likely he will partner with Arteta in central midfield, as Arsenal look to strengthen to prevent Coutinho dictating play like he managed to last time out.
Santi Carzola is missing through illness and Wenger intends to rest Olivier Giroud and Szczesny with the Champions League in mind. It’s a toss up between Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ozil for the same position off of Podolski, but with Ozil needing to find some form with the incredible stretch of games that Arsenal have coming up, the German will start.
The side has looked slightly unbalanced recently and Wenger will be keen to get some solidity and resolve back. This starts with a match against arguably the best side in England right now. Despite what cynics say about the FA Cup in its current guise, there is no doubt that if Arsenal can win against Liverpool, it sets them up very nicely for the next month and a half when the big games just keep on coming.
