This Tuesday, March 1, 2022 Club America tied 1-1 against Queretaro at the Estadio Azteca in the eighth round of matches in the Liga MX 2022 Clausura season. Las Aguilas came into this match in penultimate place on the Liga MX table and came out in penultimate place.

The capital city side looked like it would come away with the three points from the match, but a late penalty changed the fate of the team. Angel Sepulveda scored the equalizer in stoppage time that has the potential to cost Santiago Solari his job.

The Mexico City team has been severely underperforming this season and manager Santiago Solari has been under fire for the last few weeks. Considering that Club America had lost all home games this season, anything but a win was unexcusable for Solari from this match.

Solari came out late for the post-game press conference at the Estadio Azteca as his future is still up in the air at the time of writing. The club has not made anything official as of yet and there are no rumors of a potential replacement up to this point.

Cub America is under crisis and new signings like Ferney Otero, Jonathan Dos Santos and Alejandro Zendejas have also underperformed. Several America fans are also asking for front office changes after a poor transfer window leading up to the 2022 Clausura season.
