The Liga MX 2020 Apertura tournament is set to start on July 24, 2020, as teams are now making transfers ahead of the new season. Club America has already made a couple of moves and head coach Miguel Herrera recently revealed that defender Luis Fuentes will return to Club Tijuana.

Fuentes was at Club America on a six-month loan and the Mexico City team was set to extend his loan, but Club Tijuana required his services. Fuentes was having an outstanding season as he had started eight games and scored two goals.

The veteran fullback was becoming an important player for Miguel Herrera’s team as the end of this loan came at an unfortunate time for his career. The 33-year-old has had a successful career so far and will be returning to Xolos, where he previously spent three seasons.

Fuentes has been a very offensive fullback in recent seasons as he moves up the pitch quite a lot. The Mexico City native will be a great addition to Tijuana’s backline as he provides leadership and stability along with some offensive presence.
