Monterrey defeated Tigres UANL in the CONCACAF Champions League final and will be looking to start off this series with an advantage. Los Rayados defeated Necaxa in the quarterfinals, but did not have a convincing performance as the aggregate score in the series was 1-1.
Diego Alonso counts with one of the best teams in the league and its offense is the main component with players like Dorlan Pabon, Rogelio Funes Mori and Rodolfo Pizarro. Pizarro will be the main player to watch for Monterrey as he scored against Necaxa and he has been in tremendous form.
Tigres UANL also did not have a dominant performance in the quarterfinals of the competition as Ricardo Ferretti’s team tied 2-2 against Pachuca, hut advanced thanks to their position on the league table. Los Felinos also have a very well-balanced team but like Monterrey, the main attraction on the team is the offense with players like Enner Valencia, Javier Aquino and Andre-Pierre Gignac.
Tigres can also be a very ordered team with Guido Pizarro controlling the midfield and the strong centre-back partnership of Hugo Ayala and Carlos Salcedo. This will be a tough away match for Los Felinos and it will not be surprising to see Ricardo Ferretti be patient and not be too aggressive.
