The Faroe Islands also started off the qualifiers with a loss as Malta defeated Lars Olsen’s team 2-1. Group F of the qualifiers is very competitive with Spain, Sweden and Norway also in the group and the Faroe Islands should struggle.
Lars Olsen has a very limited squad to work with, comprised of players that mostly play in Nordic countries and one of the standouts is 21-year-old forward Jakup Thomsen of Icelandic team FH.
