The Kazakhstan vs Russia UEFA Euro qualifying match will be broadcast live online and on TV as The Hawks host Sbornaya at the Astana Arena this Sunday, March 24, at 7:00 AM Pacific.
Kazakhstan is off to a brilliant start in the 2020 Euro qualifiers as The Hawks defeated Scotland 3-0 in the first matchday of the competition. Baktiyar Zaynutdinov, Yan Vorogovskiy and Yuriy Pertsukh scored the goals that led the Eurasian side to victory past the Brits.
The base of Michal Bilek’s side is very young as only three players on the 25-man roster exceed the age of 30. The three goal scorers against Scotland were all 22 years old or younger and The Hawks will need to use their home-field advantage again in this match to try and pull off another upset.
Russia started off the qualifiers with a rough 3-1 loss against Belgium and must now try and get back on track. Denis Cheryshev scored the lone goal for Stanislav Cherchesov’s team against the Red Devils as Aleksandr Golovin was red carded in the clash and will now miss this game.
Yuri Zhirkov, Denis Cheryshev and Artem Dzyuba are some of the key players to watch for Russia as they do have a solid squad. Stanislav Cherchesov is still looking for a replacement for Igor Akinfeev in net and given that Guilherme allowed three goals against Belgium, Zenit’s Andrey Lunyov may receive a chance to start this match.
