The Chivas de Guadalajara vs Club America Liga MX match will be broadcast live online and on TV as Los Rojiblancos host Los Azulcremas at the Estadio Akron this Saturday, March 16, at 6:00 PM Pacific.
The first “Superclasico” of the week was played this past Wednesday at the Estadio Azteca as Club America defeated Chivas de Guadalajara 2-0 in the Copa MX quarterfinals. Now the two hated rivals will meet in Week 11 of the Liga MX 2019 Clausura, but this time at the Estadio Akron.
Chivas de Guadalajara is currently out of a playoff spot in ninth place with 15 points and desperately needs the three points from the clash. Los Tapatios are coming off a scoreless draw against Queretaro and are on a dreadful three-game winless streak in league play.
However, Chivas has played really well at home this season with three wins, a draw and just one loss at the Akron. Manager “Pepe” Cardozo has a talented squad and some of the standouts include Isaac Brizuela and Alan Pulido, who did not start on Wednesday night.
Club America has one of the most talented rosters in the league and is coming off that huge win in the Copa MX along with a 1-0 win against Puebla in league play. Las Aguilas will still be without Oribe Peralta for the “Clasico Nacional”, but a lot of key players that were previously injured like Andres Ibarguen, Mateus Uribe and Jeremy Menez are now ready to go.
Club America has a menacing attack with Nicolas Castillo, Andres Ibarguen and Renato Ibarra, but these players have struggled to be clinical. However, the midfield combo of Edson Alvarez and Guido Rodriguez might just be the best in Mexico’s top-flight division.
