Will Maradona’s absence play a role in the Ascenso MX final?

Dorados de Sinaloa defeated Atletico San Luis 1-0 in the first-leg of the Ascenso MX final at the Estadio Banorte in Culiacan. However, Diego Maradona argued with referees towards the end of the clash and will now miss the second-leg of the Ascenso MX final at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras in San Luis.

This could severely impact Dorados de Sinaloa as the Argentine icon has made a significant impact since taking charge of El Gran Pez. It is quite apparent and it has even been said by a few players that Maradona does not do much when it comes to the tactical side of the game.

However, “El Diez” has served as a major confidence boost for Dorados and his impact could probably not have been made by many other managers. Luis Islas and Mario Garcia should be fine on the tactical side of things, but the Dorados’ players will not hear or see the Argentine icon on the sidelines.

This could have a deep psychological impact on Los Sinaloenses and even cost them the final. It must be said that before Maradona’s arrival, El Gran Pez had three draws and three losses in six games.
