The first-leg of the Superclasico Copa Libertadores final between Boca Juniors and River Plate is just a few hours away. Unfortunately for River Plate, manager Marcelo Gallardo will not be able to enter La Bombonera for the first-leg as he will be serving a suspension that will run for four games.
“El Muneco” cannot enter the stadium for the first game of his suspension and will sit in the stands for the rest of his sanction. Gallardo received this punishment after communicating with his assistant manager with a walkie-talkie and going into the locker room during a suspension in the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores against Gremio.
Diario Ole has confirmed that Marcelo Gallardo will watch the first-leg of the Libertadores final at River Plate’s Estadio Monumental. The Argentine head coach is also set to watch the Superclasico alongside River Plate legend Enzo Francescoli, who currently works in Los Millonarios’ front office.
It will be interesting to see if “El Muneco” has any tricks up his sleeve as he tried in his previous suspension or if he tries to communicate with his assistant manager in any way.
