Diego Maradona had a few controversial statements in a post-game press conference for a friendly match between Club Tijuana and Dorados de Sinaloa this Friday, October 12, 2018. The current Dorados’ manager first criticized El Tri and said, “Mexico got used to beating the weak teams.”

Maradona did say he hoped Mexico would play stronger teams like Germany and Belgium more often. That statement is definitely reasonable, but then Maradona went on to say something that could definitely upset a few people. “El Diez” commented on the upcoming friendly matches between Mexico and Argentina and compared the fixtures to second-division Argentina games.

Maradona said, “We are both in the Primera B, it’s a team that is missing a lot of work ethic, there is no depth, some things I have already said about Mexico and you can’t make a fixture in one day, that’s why I say it’s a Primera B game.”

Mexico plays La Albiceleste in Argentina on November 17 and November 20 and the games should not be similar to a Primera B match, an Ascenso MX game or anything of the sort.
