Liverpool star Sadio Mane has praised his attacking partner Roberto Firmino and referred to the Brazilian as an ”animal”.
The Reds are widely expected to contest for the Premier League title this season, after a promising summer transfer window, combined with the fact that they have arguably the top-flight’s deadliest attacking trio in Mane, Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
The Anfield giants have so far enjoyed a mesmerizing start to the season, as they have won all four of their League games played so far. The first three games were won convincingly and Leicester City were the only side that they had to fight to win against so far.
Mane has been on great form and so far already bagged four goals while last seasons Golden boot winner Salah has two to his name.
Firmino has so far scored just one goal and contributed two assists. While the number 9 may have not scored as many goals as Salah or Mane so far, he is renowned for his work-rate.
Firmino’s form will be vital to Liverpool’s chances of winning the League this season.
During an in-depth interview with Bleacher Report, Mane spoke about his team-mate and said: “Lots of people like to talk about me and Salah.”
“It’s nice to hear those things, but the strength of this Liverpool team is the collective. You also can’t forget that there’s a guy up front called Firmino who works like an animal for us and makes things easier. And the guys behind us do some extraordinary work.
We try to benefit from that and help the team go forward.”
