Interim Mexico National Team coach Tuca Ferretti will be in charge of this match and next week’s friendly against the USA. Tuca has said that these games will be an opportunity to test out the abilities of the younger players, those that we will likely see participate in the Qatar World Cup.

Several new players were called up to this version of the Mexican National Team, while many of the European based players were left out. Clearly, the Mexican Federation is thinking about the future, and want to give this group of young players experience at the international level.

It should be exciting to see what a Liga MX based squad can do. This lineup will likely be similar to what Mexico fans will see at the Qatar World Cup in 4 years. The era of Chicharito, Oribe Peralta, and the like are coming to an end. These will be replaced by the players who will face off against Uruguay.
