This Tuesday, September 4, 2018, Pachuca officially announced the signing of 25-year-old Colombian midfielder Sebastian Perez from Argentine club Boca Juniors. Perez has had an illustrious career and will serve as a direct replacement for Erick Gutierrez in Pachuca’s midfield.
The Colombia international started his career with Atletico Nacional in 2011 and managed to win 10 titles including a Copa Libertadores trophy in 2016. Perez made 121 appearances with the Medellin club and was coached by respectable managers like Juan Carlos Osorio and Reinaldo Rueda.
The 25-year-old then made the jump to Boca Juniors in Argentina in 2016, but was plagued with injuries in his tenure with the club. Still, Perez was part of two Superliga winning teams as he added to his accolades during his stint with Los Xeneizes.
Pachuca had a very slow start to the season, but are now undefeated in their last five games and do look like a team on the rise. Erick Gutierrez, who is now with PSV in Holland will be dearly missed by the club and it was vital for Los Tuzos to find a suitable replacement.

Perez can certainly be that replacement as he is a box-to-box midfielder that is very talented and can also serve as a leader on the team.
