The eighth round of matches in the Liga MX 2018 will feature several mismatches that seem to have clear favorites Among them is the clash between Cruz Azul and Veracruz at the Estadio Azteca, which will be a game that the home team should be able to win easily. Both teams have some intriguing players and here are the predicted starting lineups that Pedro Caixinha and Hugo Chavez may go for.

Cruz Azul: Jesus Corona, Gerardo Flores, Pablo Aguilar, Julio Cesar Dominguez, Adrian Aldrete, Elias Hernandez, Rafael Baca, Ivan Marcone, Angel Mena, Roberto Alvarado, Milton Caraglio

Gerardo Flores seems to be ready to go after a knee injury that kept him out of last week’s game against Santos Laguna. Pedro Caixinha has a lot of different options in the attack, but since Martin Cauteruccio was used in the midweek Copa MX match against Atlas it is likely that Milton Caraglio will get the start in this match.

Angel Mena has also looked better than Edgar Mendez recently and Cruz Azul has looked better with one striker, so the Ecuadorian forward should slot into La Maquina’s lineup for a second consecutive match.

Veracruz: Pedro Gallese, Osmar Mares, Rodrigo Noya, Jefferson Murillo, Jose Rivas, Jesus Paganoni, Luis Martinez, Wilder Cartagena, Diego Chavez, Bryan Carrasco, Cristian Menendez

This lineup worked well for Veracruz to get a win against Club Tijuana last week and Hugo Chavez is likely to use it again. There should be plenty of balls crossed into the area with Diego Chavez and Cristian Menendez in the squad as Los Escualos’ best bet to score.
