West Ham and Arsenal are set to face off in a Premier League clash on Saturday.
Both sides are hungry for points, having lost their two opening League games respectively.
The Gunners will go into the game as the favorites, as they at least were competitive and have positives to take from their defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea. West Ham, on the other hand, looked lethargic during their defeats against Liverpool and Bournemouth.
Lucas Torreira is one Arsenal player who will be looking to make an impression if called upon. The midfielder arrived at the Gunners following an impressive 2018 World Cup with Uruguay, but at the moment, sits below youngster Matteo Guendouzi in the club’s pecking order.
Guendouzi has so far proven that he is capable of playing at the highest level in the Premier League and could have a very exciting future ahead of him.
During his cameo against Chelsea last week, Torreira showed that he has not yet adapted to the style of play in the Premier League. He ended up losing possession to Chelsea star Eden Hazard. The Belgian superstar subsequently went on to set-up Marcos Alonso for the winner during the 81st minute.
If the words of Paul Merson are to be believed, Torreira will have a perfect opportunity to find confidence and make an impression during the game against the Hammers.
Merson has predicted that Unai Emery’s side will go on to record a comfortable victory.
As quoted by Sky Sports, Merson said: “I don’t see anything other than an Arsenal win here. West Ham have struggled, and I don’t see anything different from them compared to last year. I can’t get over Cheikhou Kouyate leaving for Crystal Palace for that kind of money, he’s the only one who had any legs in midfield, and I think Arsenal will run riot.”
