The Clasico Tapatio, Chivas vs Atlas, will be live on TV and online stream this Friday, August 24, 2018 at 7:00 PM Pacific at the Estadio Jalisco. This season’s Clasico Tapatio pits the absolute worst team in the Liga MX (Atlas), against a Chivas squad that appears to be resurging after the CardOxxo incident.
If I had to use one word to summarize Atlas’ season, it would be “pathetic”. Six games played, two draws and four losses for just two points earned out of 18 possible, sitting dead last in the Liga MX table. Worst of all, Atlas has completely failed to score a single goal this season, while at the same time allowing 9 goals.
Whether it is at home or away, Atlas are completely inept. They’ve lost against the better teams such as Club America and Pumas, while barely able to 0-0 tie against fellow terrible Lobos BUAP. Too summarize, Atlas are bad.
Chivas were having a similar start to the season, but have been able to turn it around in the past two matches. Chivas won back-to-back games against Veracruz and Necaxa, prior to that, the team had lost three and tied once. Chivas currently have seven points, enough to place them in 10th place.
Chivas vs Atlas Prediction
Atlas have simply been terrible, and Chivas look like they can beat bad teams. Look for a low-scoring affair that ends in a Chivas win 1-0.
