Before that, Pumas had wins against Veracruz, Necaxa and Atlas and a draw against Pachuca as well.
The Mexico city team has a very solid midfield and attack with players like Pablo Barrera, Ignacio Malcorra, Carlos Gonzalez and Felipe Mora. The defense id the team’s weak point with players like Luis Quintana, Alan Mozo and Alan Mendoza. Spanish centre-back Alejandro Arribas missed Pumas’ last game due to an injury and could be out for this match as well. This could be troublesome for the inconsistent backline and unreliable goalkeeper Alfredo Zaldivar.
Queretaro has been one of the weaker teams in the Liga MX with five points from its first five games. Los Gallos Blancos are coming off an impressive 1-1 draw with Club America, but have really struggled offensively this season with only three goals scored. This is especially surprising with new manager Rafael Puente Jr., who implements a very offensive playing style.
Queretaro has intriguing players in the attack like Daniel Villalva, Matias Britos, Camilo Sanvezzo and Edson Puch, but has really struggled to do much damage. The defense is quite inconsistent, but Puente Jr. does count with team captain Tiago Volpi, one of the best goalkeepers in the league.
