Pumas UNAM will host Queretaro at the Estadio Olimpico Universitario for a game in Week 6 of the Liga MX 2018 Apertura this Tuesday. Throughout the years there have been a few players that played with Los Felinos and Los Gallos Blancos, here are five players that have represented both teams.
Matias Britos
The Uruguayan striker just recently joined Queretaro last season, but is still yet to score for Los Gallos in an official league game. However, Britos does have plenty of Liga MX goals including 26 with Pumas UNAM as he played with Los Capitalinos from 2014-2017.
Miguel Angel Fraga
Fraga is still yet to play a Liga MX game with Pumas UNAM since recently joining the club, but he did play a couple games with Queretaro back in 2014. The 30-year-old goalkeeper is mostly known for his time with Atlas and is unlikely to receive much playing time for the Mexico City club this season.
Gerardo Espinoza
The current Atlas’ manager had an extensive playing career from 1999-2015, playing with eight different teams in Mexico. This includes 15 games with Pumas UNAM in 2007 and a stint with Queretaro from 2013-2014, scoring no league goals for either team.
Emanuel Villa
“Tito” played in the Liga MX for over a decade and scored several goals throughout his extensive career that spanned from 2001-2018. The Argentine striker did not have a memorable stint with Pumas, only scoring three goals in the 2012 Apertura season. With Queretaro, “Tito” managed to score 28 league goals from 2015-2018 and was a solid player for Los Gallos Blancos.
Joaquin Beltran
Beltran is the most notable player that has played with both teams as he made his mark with both teams at different stages of his career. The Mexican centre-back started his career with Pumas UNAM in 1996 and spent a decade with the club amassing over 350 appearances and becoming the team captain. Beltran then went to Queretaro at the end of his career from 2009-2010, where he played 51 games and wore the captain’s armband.
