Brazilian legend Ronaldinho predicts Liverpool player will win prestigious award

Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has predicted that Mohamed Salah will reclaim the Premier League golden boot award this season.

During his first season with the Reds, Salah ended Harry Kane’s two season domination over the Golden boot award, as he went on to score 32 goals and win the award.

All in all, the Egyptian star scored 44 goals across all competitions, as the Reds defied the odds to reach the final of the Champions League, which they lost against Real Madrid.

Unfortunately for Salah, he had to exit the game during the first-half, following an injury which came as a result of a tackle from Sergio Ramos. The 26-year-old did, however, look strong during the early stages of the encounter and many fans will argue that the Anfield giants would have won the game had Salah had the opportunity to play throughout.

Liverpool eventually went on to lose the game 3-1 following two basic goalkeeping errors from Loris Karius. Jurgen Klopp’s side also lacked firepower up front after Salah was forced off.

Liverpool fans can now potentially brace themselves for exciting times ahead. They have one of the strongest lineups on paper in the Premier League this season after bringing in Virgil Van Dijk in January and following that up with the bringing in of Fabinho, Alisson, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri during the January transfer window.

Ronaldinho, who is regarded as one of the best players of the past generation, having helped Brazil win the 2002 World Cup and Barcelona the 2006 Champions League, believes that Salah will once again win the Golden Boot award.

“Mohamed Salah is brilliant and has the opportunity to become the top scorer of the Premier League for a second consecutive season,” Ronaldinho told Pyramids TV as reported by African Football.

“He will have a hard time competing for the Golden Boot due to the presence of outstanding players such as Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane.”
