According to new reports from Spain’s Diario Sport, FC Barcelona and Everton have come to an agreement that places Yerry Mina at Goodison Park. The report mentions that the transfer deal is for €32 million and is in its final stages for it to become official.

When official, the Colombian defender will be a great addition to a backline which already includes Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka, and newly signed Lucas Digne. Mina will undoubtedly provide speed, strength, and even offensive capacities as demonstrated by his three goals in the past Russia 2018 World Cup.

The 23-year old will become the fourth Colombian to form part of the 2018-19 Premier League season after Arsenal’s David Ospina, Brighton’s Jose Izquierdo, and Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez.

It will be interesting to compare Mina’s first Premier League season to Colombian national teammate’s first at Tottenham. Sanchez who signed last summer with the Spurs for a £42 million fee was one of the best defenders throughout the 2017-18 season. The young Colombian demonstrated great capabilities and at a young age which shows the defender can only become better in this new campaign.

Mina will have pressure throughout his first season as he arrives with a higher pedigree considering he spent parts of last season at FC Barcelona. If he imitates his performances from Russia 2018, he will surely become a fan favorite at Goodison Park.
